DYNAMIC WORSHIP- Worship is the essence and life of our church. We worship our Lord with intensity, excitement, reverence, authenticity, and excellence. We worship through prophetic and exegetical preaching, Biblical teaching, fervent praying, spiritual disciplines, passionate musicianship, and giving liberally and generously of our time, talent, and treasure to the work of the ministry. The worship of our God is a lifestyle. (Psalms 34:1,3,8 Psalms 100, Psalms 150, Malachi 3:10, Hebrews 13:15 )
CARING FELLOWSHIP- We are a loving and diverse community of believers. From the wisdom of our elders to the ingenuity of our youth, through our Women’s Ministry and our Men’s ministry, it is our intention to display great love and respect for each other while working in ministry, worshiping together, and supporting other each in ministry and life. We love, work, serve, and share with one another as a collective community. (Luke 6:31, Galatians 6:10, Acts 2:44-46)
EMPOWERING DISCIPLESHIP - As Christians, we are committed to the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. The life of Jesus of Nazareth is central to our individual and communal spiritual empowerment. We are committed to life-long learning, growing, and transforming by agency of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. By discipleship we are developing into critical thinkers through the love ethic and sacrifice of Jesus. (Matthew 22:37, Matthew 28:18-20, Philippians 2:5)
CULTURAL CULTIVATION: As a people of African descent we affirm our cultural and our historical heritage. We are proud of our contributions to civilization, we honor our ancestors, and we are rooted in the Black Church Tradition. We believe in loving ourselves just as God made us and we also affirm all of our sisters and brothers of other nationalities and ethnic groups. We are all one in Jesus Christ. (Psalms 139:14)
Our Christian faith is put into action by seeking justice for those who struggle under oppression because of race, gender, class, and every other discrimination. We believe that social justice create a more equal world for ALL of God's children and creation. We believe engaging in the political, educational, and economic realities of our city, our region, our state, our country, and our world is our Christian duty and social justice is a part of our Christian discipleship. As followers of Jesus Christ, we live out the Gospel message by empowering our community, nation, and the world with an engaged social witness. We seek to flesh out the Gospel by advocating for poor, feeding the hungry, setting the captives free, clothing the naked, providing shelter for the homeless by the power of Jesus Christ. (Matthew 25:31-45, Luke 4:16-18, Luke 10:25-37
We are committed to Spiritual Empowerment and Social Transformation that is founded upon our Lord and Liberator Jesus Christ.
